Area Group reorganisation
As part of a review to ensure that Members of the UK Club and the UK Defence Club continue to receive optimal service for underwriting, claims, account management and loss prevention, the London claims Area Groups have re-formed into three Syndicates to ensure the most appropriate resources are available for the needs and circumstances of the members. The reduction in the number of Syndicates will see no reduction in the resources available to Members or changes to the individuals dealing with their problems, but it will produce greater flexibility and free up executive time to concentrate on the Members’ requirements.

One of these London syndicates will continue to handle people claims under the leadership of John Turner as Syndicate Manager and will be called “London Syndicate 3”. The new team-mail address for this Syndicate is LS3.ukclub.thomasmiller.com.

The other two groups will focus on the non-people P&I and FD&D claims of Members served through the London office.

Paul Sessions will become the Syndicate Manager for “London Syndicate 1” which will look after the interests of Members based in Japan, Turkey, Russia, India, Pakistan and the Middle East. The new team-mail address for this Syndicate is LS1.ukclub@thomasmiller.com.

Philip Clacy will be Syndicate Manager for “London Syndicate 2” which will service Members based in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Croatia, Scandinavia and North and South Africa. London Syndicate 2 will also look after those Greek Members who continue to be served by the London office. The new team-mail address for this Syndicate is LS2.ukclub@thomasmiller.com.

All other contact details such as phone numbers and out of hours contact numbers remain the same.

These changes do not affect any of the offices outside London where the organisation and people will remain the same.

Other changes
Senior levels of technical claims handling and Member service will be strengthened by Martyn Haines in his new role as a Senior Claims Director and Susanne Murphy who will continue in her role in the UK Defence Club management team including marketing activities upon her return from maternity leave. Susanne will also continue to be closely involved with the German market.

In addition, the Board and Managers intend to capitalise on the many strengths present in the Club and support these changes with the creation of two new roles. Paul Knight will become Marketing and Development Director leading efforts in support of account management and new business development activity. Nick Whitear, as Communications Director, will lead press relations and other media work.

If you have any questions about any of these changes then please feel free to consult your usual Club contact or, alternatively, contact me here in London
