The Republic of the Marshall Islands ship registry is issuing Bunkers Convention certificates verifying insurance cover with effect from 1st August 2008. 

Certification Procedure

Certification procedure is explained in the Marshall Islands’ Marine Notice No. 2-011-27 attached here in pdf format. This Marine Notice includes a specimen copy of the Certificate.

MARPOL Annex VI limits sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions from ship exhausts. It prohibits deliberate emissions of ozone depleting substances and establishes more stringently controlled special SOx Emission Control Areas (SECAS)
