922 - 11/13 - Situation Update - Egypt
After several months of political unrest, which resulted in curfews and restrictions in travel, the situation in Egypt is gradually returning to normal.
Curfews are still in place between the hours of 01:00 and 05:00 every day with the exception of Fridays, where the curfew is extended to the hours of 19:00 to 05:00.
It is expected that these curfews and security procedures may be lifted by the end of November 2013.
Members with vessels calling in Egypt until that date should bear in mind that all travel is restricted during these curfew hours, which may affect disembarkation and embarkation of crew.
Other than complying with curfew timings, it is reported that travel in Egypt has returned to previous levels of safety.
