994 - 09/14 - Ebola Update - Sierra Leone
Following the escalation of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, discussed in previous UK Club bulletins, the government of Sierra Leone has now announced a planned "lock down" of the whole country between 19th and 21st September in order to assess and control its Ebola situation. The country's ports will be closed during this period.
Members are referred to the P&I Club bulletin 988 and the UK Defence Club Soundings article in relation to potential contractual issues arising out of the port closures which are likely to affect existing fixtures. For specific queries, Members should contact their usual point of contact at the Club for advice.
