Japan ports update - dry bulk - 28th March


A more specific update is now available on the status of dry bulk ports in the range of Japan's eastern Honshu coast including those that bore the brunt of the tsunami on the 11th March.  This report gives, where possible, specific advice passed to us in respect of the individual wharves & terminals in these locations. 

PLEASE NOTE:  We would recommend Members follow-up with their own enquiries using the contact numbers supplied in the attached map of Japanese ports.

Kashima  :  the following berths are available. 

North Public Wharf-C /  max draft 8m

South Public Wharf-D /  depth - 7.5m

South Public Wharf-E /  depth - 7.5m

South Public Wharf-F /  depth -  7.5m

South Pubic Wharf-G / max draft  8m

Remarks: the berths are available for the ships that are approved to enter by the port authority.
 


Hitachinaka/Hitachi  : the following berths are available within the limited ship's draft.

Hitachi No. 2-B /  max draft 6.5m

Hitachi No. 5-D /  max draft  9m

Hitachinaka North C /  depth  -10m

Hitachinaka North H /  depth  - 5.5m

Hitachinaka Chuo A /  depth  -7.5m

Hitachinaka Chuo B /  depth  - 9m

Remarks:  the berths are available for the ships that are approved to enter by the port authority.

 

Onahama  : the following berths are available.

Fujiwara berth No.1 / depth -10.0m

Fujiwara berth No.2 / depth -12.0m

Remarks: the berths are available for emergency aids transporters only.


 
Soma  : the following berth is available.

No.1 pier No.1 berth / depth -5.5m

No.1 pier No.3 berth / depth -7.5m

No.2 pier No.4 berth / depth -12.0m

Shiogama  : the following berths are available. N.B. Max draft at the entrance channel is 4.9m

Teizan No.2 / draft  9.0m * depth must be confirmed to the authorities for usage

Teizan No.3 / draft  7.5m *  depth must be confirmed to the authorities for usage

Teizan No.4 / draft  7.5m *  depth must be confirmed to the authorities for usage

 
Sendai  : the following berths are available.

Nakano Takamatsu wharf / dept -12m * available for emergency aids transporters only

Raijin Wharf No.1 / depth -6. 50m * provisional usage is available

Raijin Wharf No.2 / depth -6. 50m * provisional usage is available

Nakano Wharf No.2 / depth -9.1m * provisional usage is available

Nakano Wharf No.3 / depth -8.5m * provisional usage is available

Nakano Wharf No.4 / depth -8.5m * provisional usage is available
