- Date: 05/03/2012
Warsash Maritime Academy student Victoria Bolitho has won selection as the Thomas Miller sponsored officer cadet under the Maritime London Officer Cadet Scheme.
Warsash’s Deck Officer Cadet programme splits into three academic phases and two practical seagoing phases leading to a Deck Officer's Certificate of Competency (STCW'95 II/I OOW) as well as a foundation degree in Marine Operations
One of the Club’s Senior Claims Directors, Mike Bowen was on the interview board selecting a candidate for sponsorship as part of the Maritime London scheme. Mike leads Thomas Miller’s liaison with both the charitable foundation and with Victoria directly over the three-year sponsorship.
A science graduate from Cornwall, Victoria is already a qualified RYA Yacht Master and Powerboat Instructor. As well as a passion for seamanship, she is also a keen horsewoman.
