New underwriter for Thomas Miller’s Greece team
12 August 2010
Thomas Miller has appointed Mark Matthews to reinforce its underwriting team serving the Greek memberships of the UK P&I and UK Defence Clubs, with effect from 20th September.
Mark will join Senior Underwriting Director Paul Collier working with the Clubs’ claims staff in London and Piraeus. He has over 25 years’ experience in maritime insurance broking and underwriting in the P&I club sector.
Thomas Miller has a team of 26 claims handlers and underwriters supporting Greek Members of the UK Club and the UK Defence Club, located in London and Piraeus.
NOTE TO EDITORS:
Thomas Miller has maintained its own office in Piraeus for more than 30 years. Rod Lingard leads the Piraeus team of Thomas Miller Hellas, known as "H1", with the support of nine other claims directors and executives. In London, Syndicate 2 supports Greek controlled tonnage whose Members prefer to manage their insurance affairs through their London offices. Philip Clacy leads Syndicate 2, assisted by 13 claims handlers, many with either legal or practical shipping experience, some of it in owners' employment. Philip Clacy led the Piraeus team for six years prior to Rod Lingard.
