ITOPF Technical Information Papers (TIPs)

ITOPF, the world's leading provider of technical advice on oil spill response, has kindly allowed the Club to reproduce a series of 17 highly technical papers on various aspects of oil pollution. These papers, just released, are based on over 40 years experience of dealing with spills on behalf of owners and their insurers and come highly recommended by the Club.

Alert!

Alert! is the international maritime human element bulletin - A Nautical Institute project sponsored by Lloyd's Register. The bulletins are designed to promote awareness and interest in the management of the human issues in all areas of the maritime industry.


Mariners Alerting and Reporting Scheme (MARS)

The Mariners' Alerting and Reporting Scheme is a confidential reporting system run by The Nautical Institute to allow full reporting of Accidents (and Near Misses) without fear of litigation. MARS reports are available to download below and can also be accessed through the Nautical Institute website.


Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB)

The MAIB publishes a range of digests, flyers and annual reports on its website. These documents provide useful information to shipowners and seafarers. Links to each section can be found below.

Safety Digests - Several digests are issued throughout each year, summarising lessons learned from incidents from the period. Safety Digests for all years are available from the MAIB website.

Safety Flyers - The MAIB also produces a range of safety flyers which provide a good overall summary of recent incidents and provide useful lessons in how to avoid accidents.


CHIRP

CHIRP publishes 4 quarterly FEEDBACK newsletters containing a selection of reports (given the reporter's consent) combined with CHIRPs response, in order to make a wider audience aware of situations. All CHIRP newsletters can be downloaded by clicking on this link.
