Career Summary
After graduating in Natural Sciences and Law at Cambridge, and subsequently qualifying as a barrister, John's early career was spent as a legal advisor in the shipping industry (Furness Withy Group) for over 10 years. During that period he was engaged in a wide range of corporate and trading legal matters.
Upon joining Thomas Miller in 1987 he worked within the UK P&I and UK Defence Clubs' areas of business, becoming the Club Manager of the UK Defence Club in 1998.
Since 2007 he has been based in Hong Kong as the head of the Group's offices in Asia and representing, principally, the UK P&I Club in the region.
