The fourteenth Robin Travis scholarship has been awarded to Mr Michael Wiegemann of Hamburg Sud.
A graduate of the Hamburg Süd apprenticeship scheme as well as a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Michael works in the insurance and management systems department of Hamburg Süd. Michael takes up the three month scholarship in London in mid September. He will spend about six weeks in the London office of Thomas Miller and the remainder of the time in selected businesses tailored to the individual, such as lawyers, surveyors or insurance brokers.
There was an excellent field of candidates for the scholarship and our thanks go to all who participated in the competition. The scholarship was established in 1992 in memory of Robin Travis, a former Director of Thomas Miller who died in 1991. He had a long association with the German Members of the transport clubs managed by Thomas Miller, correspondents and brokers.
