Marine Log Seminar, Baltimore, 27th April 2004

The UK Club attended the Marine Log Seminar on Maritime Operations and Human Factors in Baltimore on 27th April. The seminar, which was sponsored by USCG, MARAD, SOCP and the National Cargo Security Council, took place at Maritime Institute of Technology (MITAGS) and was attended by many sections of the industry including owners, charterers, trainers, shipmanagers, government officals and human element specialists.

Karl Lumbers, the Club's Loss Prevention director showed the Club's human factors DVD No Room For Error which is now being used by the USCG in its extensive PTP (Prevention Through People) programme training sessions.

Speakers included Capt W Abernathy and Cdr Bryan Emond USCG PTP progamme, Capt J Brusseau, Director of Field Activities USCG, Alex Landsburg, MARAD and Commodore David Squire of the Nautical Institute
