The Club's biennial conference for cruise ship Members was held in Palermo on 12th-14th May 2004. Fourteen Members attended to discuss a range of issues including crew claims, disaster response, criminal responsibility, the human element, recent US decisions and the Athens Convention.

A number of papers were given by Members, including Ian Gaunt of Carnival, a UK Club Director. External speakers included Larry Kaye of Kaye Rose, Ann Miller of Nixon Peabody, Mark Cracknell of Marsh and Ben Abraham of Willis, Massimo Mordiglia and Maurizio Mazzochi of Mordlglia and Jim Murphy and Stephen Hendrey of Casella Winton.

Miller staff attending included Phil Nichols, John Turner, Julian South, Ursula Elsden, Martin Turner, Louise Livingston and Karl Lumbers.
