UK Club Addresses ISF Manning & Training Conference

 

ISF Manning & Training Conference 2004


On 6th October, the Club attended the ISF Manning & Training Conference in London. The Conference was opened by HE Efthimious Mitropoulos, Secretary-General of IMO who spoke of the importance of the human element in shipping. Speakers included David Dearsley of IMEC on the progress to the unified ILO Seafarers' Convention, Natalie Wiseman of ISF, Mark Brownrigg of the Chamber of Shipping and Claire Pekan of Warsash Marine College. The Conference was chaired by Andreas Droussiotis of Hanseatic, Chairman of the Cyprus Shipping Council. Karl Lumbers presented The Human Factor in Liability Claims - An Underwriter's View.
