The Audience


The London Shipping Law Centre Cadwallader Lecture on "The Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction in Criminalisation Cases: Sovereign Rights in Legislation and New Risks for the Shipping Industry" was held in the Captain's Room at Lloyd's on Tuesday 4 October 2005.

The Lecture, which was organised by Dr Aleka Mandaraka-Sheppard and the LSLC, was attended by a large number of the shipping community in London and from abroad. The most recent developments surrounding the EU Directive were considered by an eminent panel of speakers: The Rt Hon Sir Anthony Clarke - Master of the Rolls; Mr Fotis Karamitsos - Director General Maritime Transport, European Commission; Judge Thomas Mensah - former Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea; Mr Epaminondas Embiricos - Chairman, Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee. The Panel was chaired by The Rt Hon The Lord Hoffmann.
