UK Club Attends Fourth City of London Biennial Meeting

The Fourth City of London Biennial Meeting was held at IMO on 6th and 7th December 2005 and attracted some 660 delegates. The meeting, which was organised by Prof Costas Grammenos of the City University, was opened by the Lord Mayor of London, David Brewer. The keynote speaker was Dr Supachai Panitchpakdi, Secretary General of UNCTAD and other speakers included Lord Howe, the former British Foreign Secretary, Lord Griffiths, Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs, Stelios Hadjiioannou, Nick Tsakos, Efthymious Mitropoulos, Secretary General of IMO, Dr Fatih Birol of the International Energy Agency, HE Abdulla Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Qatar Minister of Energy. Discussion included the world energy situation and maritime business. Among the participants was UK Club Director Amir Hamzah of AET.
