Club attends SIGTTO Regional Meeting in Shanghai

Capt Doug Brown chairing the meeting

On 23rd February 2006, SIGTTO held the second Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting in Shanghai. Some 50 LNG ship and terminal operators attended to hear talks by Capt Yan Weiping on the development of China LNG Shipping, David Amble on the progress of the Guandong LNG Project, which would receive its first cargo on 28th April 2006, and Warwick Pointon of NWSSSC (Japan) on preparations for tsunami at Japanese ports. Capt Doug Brown gave a presentation on the development of CLISCO and representatives from Aon described how the Hudong shipyard cover had been placed. Herry Lawford attended the meeting on behalf of the UK Club, a non-contributory member of SIGTTO.

On 24th February, the participants visited Hudong Shipyard and were shown over the Dapeng Sun, launched on 28th December 2005 and being fitted out, and the Dapeng Moon, still under construction.
