UK P&I Club PEME Programme Director Sophia Grant and medical consultant Dr Sally Bell recently travelled to Romania to visit prospective medical facilities in the Bucharest area.

During their visit Ms Grant and Dr Bell audited two high quality medical facilities with a number of branches throughout Romania. The PEME visitors were aided by Club correspondent Luciana Mancas of Interservices SA. Interservices SA have branches in Bucharest and in the port of Constanza, and provided assistance throughout the Club visitors' trip to Bucharest.

The UK P&I Club PEME Programme plans a steady growth to the global clinic network. The key recruitment area of Romania provides crew for many cruise operators as well as more traditional, merchant, shipping fleets. As always the growth of the clinic network is balanced by a stringent audit process. All clinics within the UK P&I Club PEME network are regularly audited and monitored for quality performance.
