UK Club Mountain Climb

We held the 22nd Annual UK Club Mountain Climb (the "UKMC") on Saturday 26th April at Doderuam Mountain, about 60 kilometres south-east of Seoul.

This long-established event has, since its earliest days, been enthusiastically supported by the substantial and supportive membership which the Club enjoys in Korea. This year was no exception.

Although this year's climb involved no great distance, over 50 walkers enjoyed an energetic morning of exercise on a steep and occasionally challenging climb! The effort was rewarded by a traditional Korean lunch, well received by all, which also allowed the Regional Chairman, John Morris, the opportunity to thank the members present for their loyalty and their continuing support of the association.

The Club was also represented by Peter Lau, Do Young Kim and Christopher Roberts from the Club's Hong Kong office, joined by a retired yet sprightly Richard Carpenter, keeping contact with old friends stemming from his many years of involvement with the Korean membership.

Grateful thanks as always go to Hyopsung Shipping, the Club's general correspondent in Korea, and, in particular, Mr K H Kim, for organising this highly successful gathering.
