Yet again the traditional open day at the Thomas Miller (Hellas) on Thursday 5th June received an overwhelming response. More than 350 Members, brokers, lawyers, Club correspondents and other friends visited the Piraeus office during the course of the day. It gave both local Members and those attending Posidonia an ideal opportunity to visit our office and meet our Greece based colleagues as well as Thomas Miller staff visiting from London, the Isle of Man and New Jersey.

Although intended to run from midday until 18:00, the socialising ran on into the evening. Refreshments followed the traditional formula of a barbeque and sushi on the balcony offering one of the best harbour views in Piraeus.

Conveniently located on Akti Miaouli opposite the cruise ship terminal, the office was made even more conspicuous by the flags adorning the building and the bunting decorating the balcony.

A particular novelty this year was the UK P&I Smart Car. Together with the UK Defence Smart Car these nippy little motors were seen criss-crossing Piraeus and the highways and byways of Athens during Posidonia week offering lifts between events to friends and colleagues.

More news and photographs from the open day will be available in the forthcoming issues of HiLights, the occasional Thomas Miller Hellas newsletter.
