Visit of IMLI graduates to International House, 22nd May 2004
On 22nd May 2004, 27 graduates of the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) LLM Course, led by Professor David Attard (Director IMLI) visited the UK Club.
They had just graduated in Malta after the intensive nine month course and had received their graduation certificates in the presence of William O'Neil, Chairman of IMLI, and Efthimios Mitropoulos (Secretary General, IMO).
The graduates visited Lloyd's Building (courtesy of Miller Marine) and Lloyd's Register where they received presentations on LR (Jim Harrison), The Baltic Exchange (Bill Lines) and communications in the P&I world (Nick Whitear). In the evening, the group went for a cruise on the Thames on the 'SALIENT'. and were fortunate to see a spectacular fireworks display to launch London's bid for the 2012 Olympics. Guests on board included Dr Rosalie Balkin (Director Legal Affairs and External Relations, IMO) and Professor Francis Reynolds.
