A new addition to our website this week is the inclusion of a specialist page for Chinese translations of Club publications.
Such translations of a variety of documents have been available for some time. However, centralising them should make reference much easier.
This new page enables the website to collate Chinese language translation in one easy area of reference. The Club circular 12/07 "Review of open policy years 2008 policy year general increase" has been translated into both traditional and simplified Chinese characters and published to this page. Furthermore, in order that Chinese speakers can appreciate the background to that announcement, the Club has also obtained a translation of the recent newsletter "Claims factors affecting the 2008 policy year general increase". This newsletter is also available in both traditional and simplified character systems.
The Club have published an overview of P&I and other related insurance matters in Greater China News in a combined English and Chinese language format since 2001. The 1999 Club Rules were translated into Chinese character and provide a useful outline guide to Club cover in that language. Both these documents will be available in this new section. However, we would stress that the latest copy of the Club Rules should always be the reference point on current points of cover.
As we build our library of these translated documents we would greatly appreciate your feedback. If you should experience any technical or other problems viewing or downloading these documents please let us know. Please forward your comments by e-mail to Jenny Whitehead (jenny.whitehead @thomasmiller.com)
For our Japanese Members and industry partners a dedicated Japanese language Club website - www.ukpandi.jp has been published for some time. This website provides a similar focal point for Club documents translated into Japanese characters e.g. the Japanese version of the current Club Rules.
