Our new Club Rules & Bye-Laws for the 2008 policy year is now available in electronic format on this website in the Publications section.
The hard copies are currently being printed prior to distribution to our Members and brokers.
As in previous years our Rules are produced together with the List of Correspondents to provide a single reference document on the Club’s cover and contacts needed in the event of a claim or incident arising.
To aid navigation around this lengthy document a set of electronic bookmarks enable the reader to instantly select the specific Rule or section of cover that they wish to view. The bookmarks are viewed by clicking the tab on the top left hand side of the PDF document.
We recommend that all entered ships are supplied with a copy of this book as a ready reference for masters.
Also this week, our Board held their customary January meeting on Thursday, January 31st in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Although a land-locked country Switzerland operates a substantial merchant fleet. It also represents a significant section of the UK Club’s membership. Our five Swiss Members contribute over fifty ships totalling 2 million gross tons of owned ships. Swiss shipping interests are directly represented on our Board by Deputy Chairman Mr Eric André of Suisse-Atlantique.
The considerable amount of trade conducted through Switzerland or Swiss interests means the Club also maintains a correspondent in Geneva. As with any correspondent their Contact details can be found online using the List of Correspondents "Quicklink" at the head of any page of the website.
A report on the Board meeting is being prepared and will be published on the website at the beginning of next week.
