We are grateful to the former Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping Mr Chris Horrocks CBE who has kindly agreed to chair this event. Mr Nikos Efthimiou, President of the Union of Greek Shipowners, is on hand to welcome our speakers and open the proceedings.
A wide range of international speakers have agreed to lead this debate with presentations on various key facets of the crewing challenges our industry face.
Mr David Dearsley, Secretary General, International Maritime Employers' Committee in London; Mrs Doris Magsaysay Ho, President & CEO of crewing suppliers Magsaysay Inc of Manila; Mr John Millican, Director of the Warsash Maritime Academy in Southampton, Captain Hiroshi Sekine, Managing Corporate Officer of NYK Line, Tokyo and Captain Howard Snaith, Marine Director of INTERTANKO, London.
Mr John Ioannides has already written to our Greek shipping community Members on behalf of our Club Board to ensure they keep a place in their diaries for this event. The date and venue has been chosen as the previous day the Club will be holding its quarterly board meeting.
The venue is the King George Palace Hotel in Syntagma Square, Athens. The programme commences at 1000 on Friday 9th May and concludes at 1330 with a buffet lunch and an opportunity to continue the discussions.
