Bulletin 176 - 2/01
Paris MOU - Concentrated Inspection Campaign on Cargo Securing - March to May 2001

From the 1st March 2001 for three months, the Paris MOU States will be concentrating their inspections on the securing arrangements of freight units. Inspections will focus on whether or not the Cargo Securing Manual has been approved, that the lashing plan is in accordance with the Cargo Securing Manual, that cargo has been lashed in accordance with the lashing plan and that lashing material is in good condition. This is as a result of recent incidents of loss overboard of large numbers of containers.

Guidelines for the inspections have been issued by the Port State Control Committee and can be found on the following site
