Restrictions on import of Dangerous Goods - China

The Association has been made aware of restrictions to the movement of hazardous cargo in the port of Shanghai between the dates of 15th June and 10th October, which includes the duration of the Olympic games in Beijing.

From 15th June to 10th October, all inbound and outbound vessels carrying bulk or liquid hazardous cargoes must follow the advice of the port authorities. This may mean an escort for the vessel in and out of port.

Between the dates 20th July and 31st August, vessels carrying dangerous goods belonging to Class 1,7 and 6.1 will NOT be allowed to enter the port of Shanghai. Tank cleaning and gas freeing will also be prohibited.
