Seoul, South Korea October 2006

On the 16th October the UK Club in partnership with the TT Club held a Dangerous Goods seminar for its Members in Seoul. Over 65 people attended the seminar to hear several speakers talk about the increasing frequency of DG related incidents. Speakers included experienced inspectors from the Korean Maritime Dangerous Goods Center.

Over the last few years the marine industry has seen a marked increase in hazardous cargo related container incidents, causing direct and indirect financial losses to both shippers and carriers. In almost all these cases it would seem there has been either a lack of understanding, deliberate avoidance or at least insufficient compliance with the requirements of the IMDG Code.
