Aki joined Thomas Miller in 2004. She was on secondment to the New Jersey office and the Tokyo office before moving back to London in 2013. She is a qualified solicitor having worked for a major maritime law firm in London and is responsible for the handling of claims for Japanese Members. Aki speaks Japanese and is a director of Thomas Miller.
Lance joined Thomas Miller in August 1977 as a P&I claims handler. During his career he has worked extensively with Members based in the German, Greek, Turkish and South American markets. Lance has been a Senior Claims Director since 1997, he specialises in oil pollution and major casualty response, and speaks the Portuguese and Spanish languages.
Lance continues to hold responsibility for the Club’s long standing Brazilian business interests and relationships since 1985. This responsibility included a nine year spell working in the Club’s Miami office, where he enjoyed a period as office manager, and Lance has also overseen responsibility for the Club’s wider South American business interests for 20 years, until that office relocated to New Jersey in 2005.
David joined Thomas Miller in 1990 from a commercial background, and has worked with the Japanese team since 2000, after a long career working with the Club's Greek Membership. In addition to his claims handing role, David also has specific responsibility for the development of the Club's Logistics Claims Handling systems and special service projects.
Jacqueline is a qualified barrister and solicitor handling FDD and P&I cases for many years. She is Legal Services Manager at Thomas Miller, editor of the Club’s legal publications and also a member of Thomas Miller’s Legal and Environmental Team. Jacqueline speaks Malay, French and Hokkien.
Philippa joined Thomas Miller in 2014. She previously practised as a solicitor for 8 years at an international shipping law firm based in London. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she studied Mandarin at undergraduate degree level and she has also spent 3 years working as a solicitor in Shanghai.
Yvonne joined Thomas Miller in 1985 having completed a Diploma in Business Studies and the Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma in Insurance Business and Marine and Aviation Insurance. She began her career in the Finance Department before transferring to claims. She has been a member of the personal injury syndicate since 1991 handling all types of people related claims for a wide selection of the Club’s Members. Yvonne specialises in handling occupational disease claims and is a member of the International Group Personal Injury Occupational Disease Sub-Committee. She has organised a number Occupational Disease seminars for the Club’s members and claims handlers from other P&I clubs.
Caroline joined Thomas Miller in 1999 and is now a full time claims handler for the Club's Members in Japan. Caroline also manages and is responsible for the Club's Logistics Claims Handling System and the performance of the Regional Claims Centres.
Eleni joined Thomas Miller in 2013. She is a Greek qualiﬁed lawyer and has an LLM in Maritime Law. Before joining London Syndicate 3 as a trainee Claims Executive, Eleni gained work experience in a Greek law ofﬁce specialising in maritime law. In her previous role in Syndicate H1, she handled people related claims. She has recently moved to London and is currently a claims handler for Syndicate J1. Eleni speaks Greek and Spanish.
Debbie has been working for Thomas Miller for 30 years. She previously worked in Personal Injury but now works within the J1 team as a Claims Executive. She also has responsibility for the enhancement and development of the Club’s Claims Handling systems and special service projects.
