Trulli

The Club have been advised of Member vessels being detained by the Indonesian Navy whilst anchored in Indonesian territorial waters. Many of these detentions are occurring in vessels anchored in waters around the island of Bintan, in the Eastern portion of the Singapore Straits.

Our Correspondents, SPICA, are currently aware of 20 detentions in Indonesia. Each case is different, but the majority of cases are alleged, or suspected to be, 'illegal anchoring'. Their recommendation is to avoid anchor in or around Indonesian territorial waters, without checking the position with local agents and, if necessary, clearing in.

For further information, please refer to the full SPICA report enclosed.
