WHO、サル痘を「国際的に懸念される公衆衛生上の緊急事態」と宣言- 用船者と固定保険料契約への影響

2022 年 7 月 23 日、世界保健機関 (WHO) は、サル痘を「国際的に懸念される公衆衛生上の緊急事態」であると発表しました。P&I用船者カバーにつきましては、このように宣言された伝染病に起因する損失や費用は、上記声明が発表された7月23日以降、保険カバーが適用されませんのでご承知おきください。

On 23rd July 2022, the Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) issued a statement that the global monkeypox outbreak represents a public health emergency of international concern. The statement can be read on the WHO website

Under several of the non-mutual insurances, including the Charterers' Terms and Conditions, there are provisions that in the event that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has determined an outbreak of a Communicable Disease to be a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (a 'Declared Communicable Disease'), no coverage will be provided under this insurance for any loss, damage, liability, cost or expense directly arising from any transmission or alleged transmission of the Declared Communicable Disease. The exclusions do not apply to infections prior to 23rd July.
