1102 - 06/16 - Update, Panama Canal Draft Restrictions - Panama

Trulli
Further to our recent bulletins, the Panama Canal Authority has announced updated draft restrictions in Panama Canal.

The amount of rainfall that the Canal watershed has received during the past week has made it possible to suspend the second draft restriction that was announced in Advisory Shipping A-14-2016 and has been in effect since April 29 2016. Therefore, the maximum authorised transit draft for vessels transiting the Panamax locks will be increased to 11.89m (39.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) effective immediately and until further notice.

We also attach the Panama Canal Authority Advisory to Shipping No.A-30-2016, referring to the updated draft restriction for the new Neopanamax locks, which will be effective 27th June 2016. From this date, the maximum authorised transit draft will be set at 13.11m (43.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW).
