Japan earthquake response (Editorial: 17th March 2011)

We are continuing to make daily updates to a resources page with maintains a list of emergency and out of office hours contacts, port status information and some frequently asked questions to assist Members. This information is being regularly supplied by our Branch and correspondent, ISS, offices in Japan.

We were greatly relieved to hear our colleagues in the UK Club Japan Branch and ISS correspondent offices are safe and well. However, the Club offers its condolences and sympathies to all its Members and colleagues who remain, together with the people of Japan, firmly in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Both offices re-opened on the 14th March, although there have been interruptions to communications and operation caused by power shortages. Updates to information are being notified via Twitter. Our address is @ukpandi and use of this system is explained in the general section of the resources page.
