The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed an outbreak of the Ebola virus disease. So far eleven suspected cases have been reported, including three deaths.

Members trading to the Democratic Republic of Congo are reminded to take note of the advice that was provided by the Club during the last outbreak in 2014. In particular, special attention should be paid to the ways the crew can reduce the chances of contracting the illness; what to do if a crewmember is showing symptoms of Ebola and finally advice on stowaways.
