New U.S Executive Order issued on immigration: potential impact on ship crews
Today President Trump signed a new Executive Order 13780 entitled "Executive Order Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States." This E.O. rescinds E.O. 13769 and introduces new restrictions on travel to the U.S. from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Note that immigration from Iraq is not targeted in this latest E.O. The E.O. has an effective date of March 16, 2017 at 12:01AM, eastern daylight time. Executive Order 13780 revokes and replaces President Trump's earlier E.O 13769.
