Shenzhen MSA's intention to implement low sulphur oil earlier
In accordance with attached the recent Shenzhen government notification, all merchant ships are required to burn low sulphur bunkers (sulphur contents less than or equal to 0.5%) when calling the port of Shenzhen from 1st October 2016.
Taking alternative equivalent measures to reduce air emission (with the exception of using shore power and liquefied natural gas clean energy) need a prior permit from MSA. Exemption may be granted in very limited circumstances.
