UK Club website refresh
The Club’s website has been refreshed with a simpler navigation structure and enhanced search functionality. Every month ukpandi.com has thousands of visitors from around the world using the site. On any given day, users are viewing the Club’s content on many different devices. The number of device types on which users can access the Club’s website will only continue to increase so we want to make sure that we always provide a consistent, fast-loading, familiar and easy experience, whatever the screen size for user and the new updates to the site will help us achieve this.
A third of all visits to ukpandi are to the homepage, which is why we have invested the time in updating this section of the site. The new design allows more content to remain accessible on the home page and for a longer time frame than previously.
The header section of the homepage now features four image banners which link directly to the relevant content, simply click on the relevant image to view the content.
The middle of the home page now features a tabbed section for the latest news and advice, the latest publications added to the website and an option to access circulars the latest circulars. Click on the tabs to move between the sections.
To simplify navigation, the new site has removed the traditional landing pages, instead the site now uses “mega-menus”.
Click on a menu section to open a dropdown submenu. For example the Knowledge & Publications menu option offers users three locations: Knowledge Base, Industry Issues, and Publications.
'Knowledge Base' will take users directly to the Club’s articles and content with the most recent material posted at the top of the page. 'Industry Issues' option goes directly to curated industry resource pages, such as MLC or VRP. Circulars, risk focus, Bodily Injury news and all publications are stored in 'Publications'.
The update has optimised the search function to enable a faster and more accurate search of content. There are further updates to the search filter which will be implemented in the next few weeks, these include a better topic filter, and the ability to search for any updates by country.
The people finder on contacts has been enhanced and users can easily download and import contact details directly into their mobile’s contact list using the vCards option on every contact.
Work is still in progress on the site, and over the next few weeks, there will be some additional changes to fine tune the search and categorisation options on the site. We welcome any feedback or comments that you have on the new site. If you do experience any issues when using the site please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
