An update on our PEME clinic procedures

Our clinics Worldwide are rethinking operations and tightening procedures in an attempt to get back to work following Covid-19 outbreaks in their respective countries.

Shown here is our Halcyon Marine Healthcare Systems clinic in Manila who have re-opened last week with a reduced schedule of PEME and a skeletal staff.  Under new guidelines for safety all staff are required to wear full PPE, some elements of the screening have been modified to control possible spread of the virus.

It is necessary for all crew undertake Covid-19 screening (and obtain clearance) prior to attending the clinic for PEME.  Whilst at the clinic crew are also required to wear masks and gloves.

Currently the clinic is able to perform Covid-19 antibody test and this is given regularly to all staff but the Covid-19 PCR (antigen) test is carried out at a government approved centre.

We very much hope the new measures will be temporary but, at least for the foreseeable future, they will be required until the local authorities decide to remove quarantine measures.
