Current Claims Issues

It is now over two years since the largest ever Ebola outbreak began in West Africa and it is thought that situation is coming to an end. Liberia was declared Ebola-free by the WHO in September 2015, Sierra Leone in November 2015 and Guinea in December 2015. However, there have been reports of a few cases in Liberia since it was declared Ebola free.  There are still some risks involved with travelling to the recently affected areas and some ports may still impose restrictions on ships coming from those areas.  The Association recommends that Members contact local agents if they have any concerns when travelling to previously affected countries.
