( stainless steel for easy cleaning and NO cardboard or paper on the shelves, thus allowing the cold air to circulate between and through any stores - good planning on this ship as storerooms were nearly empty and the ship was about to replenish stores/rations)

The regulations in Annex VI of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) address air pollution from ships and include energy efficiency and fuel quality requirements designed to reduce harmful emissions from shipping.
