Geneva forum: Oil and shipping markets in sharp focus
On the 18th June 2013 the Club held its
International Leaders Forum: Oil and shipping in sharp focus,in Geneva.
The forum was lead by two distinguished speakers, Dr Leonidas Drollas, Director and Chief Economist at the Centre for Global Energy Studies and Steve Christy, Director and Head of Research at Gibson Shipbrokers.
The evening seminar was well attended by Club Members and from the Swiss maritime and trading community. Dr Drollas spoke on the dynamics of the pricing of oil and the supply of petroleum products with particular emphasis on the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Steve Christy spoke on the freight side of the equation highlighting the supply and demand for tanker vessels with particular emphasis on the product carrier segment.
