Angelus Medical Clinic Inc.- 25 years of service
On January 20th 2015, one of our approved PEME Clinic’s Angelus Medical Clinic Inc. celebrated 25 years of medical service, providing pre-employment medical examinations (PEME) for overseas workers and seafarers.
The Clinic has been partners with the UK P&I Club for 18 years. The Club support, alongside that of our members who have chosen to embark on the PEME programme, has enabled Angelus Medical Clinic Inc to reach this milestone whilst continuing to develop and evolve.
Dr. Axibal, MD of the clinic states: ‘We would like to dedicate our 25 years to the people, the groups and the organizations behind our existing and future accomplishments, the P&I Club for continued partnership and to our returning applicants/seafarers and loyal clients for patronizing our services’.
Here at the UK P&I Club we would like to offer our congratulations to Angelus Medical Clinic Inc on the milestone anniversary achievement.

PEME advice: Hypertension
31/03/2016
Hypertension is currently the second most frequent reason for PEME failure and the illness alone represents 8% of all unfit decisions. Hypertension is a constant cause of crew illness incidents and can lead to heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and chronic kidney disease. In 2014 it was estimated that Hypertension cost the NHS in the UK over £2 Billion in health care services and medications.
The UK Club is delighted to be a signatory on the Neptune Declaration on Seafarer Wellbeing and Crew Change.
