Lloyd’s Register and the UK P&I Club launched three new apps in March 2015 – the Marine Fire Safety, Marine Pollution Protection and Port State Control pocket checklists. These apps are part of a series of apps focused on safety in the marine industry, with over 34,000 downloads. They help owners and operators comply with international convention requirements and reduce the risk of port state controls detentions and are available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.The apps were nominated for the Safety Award category at the Lloyd's list Global Awards 2015 which were held on Thursday 1st October 2015. The apps are part of LR’s ongoing commitment to helping ensure that internationally recognised safety and environmental standards are maintained at every stage of a ship's life.
