Selandia Seminar - Mumbai
The UK P&I Club was pleased to take part in a seminar organised by Selandia Ship Management in Mumbai Singapore on the 12th August 2015. The seminar involved officers of various ranks in the Selandia fleet and also staff from their regional offices.
The Club was represented by Anuj Velankar who discussed P&I Insurance as well as the refugee crisis in the Mediterranean. The presentation covered the history and framework of the P&I clubs and the basic risks covered by the Clubs. The later part of the presentation covered the various case studies, the legal obligations, best practices to prepare for and handle refugees at sea - based on our Member's experiences and also an understanding on how the Club would cover and protect Members in such situations.
The interactive session was very well received and the Club hopes to assist again in future events.
