Safety of Mooring Operations- Seminar
Loss Prevention Director Stuart Edmonston was one of the guest speakers at a ‘Safety of Mooring Operations’ seminar onboard the HQS Wellington on Monday 6th June. Run by the Nautical Institue, the lectures aimed to address the reasons Mooring operations remain extremely hazardous onboard a modern vessel. Whilst technology has changed many activities onboard, mooring remains fundamentally familiar. This has resulted in ongoing discussions at IMO and, for the tanker trade, the MEG 3 being updated. Stuart, along wth a panel of speakers, discussed hazards, the accidents that result, and ways to reduce them within Mooring.
