The Safety at Sea Awards 2018
The Safety at Sea Awards 2018 were held on 18th October 2018 at the Le Meridien Piccadilly Hotel, Mayfair, London.
The event was attended by a number of UK Club personnel as well as colleagues from Apostleship of the Sea, Forge, Mission to Seafarers, Red Square Medical, Seafarers Hospital Society and Sailor’s Society. During a very pleasant evening, the UK P&I Club’s mobile app risk awareness game, Risk Ahoy! was shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Safety Product of the Year (hardware and software package) category.
This was an exceptionally diverse field with very strong competition from the other finalists, the Club did not come away as the overall winner but was instead a commendation for the pioneering aspect of Risk Ahoy and how it addresses risk awareness in a novel in innovative light.
We are pleased to also announce that Risk Ahoy! has been further shortlisted by the Lloyd’s List Global Awards in their Safety Category. The Award Ceremony will be held on 11th December 2018 at the London Hilton, Park Lane, London. It is hoped that Risk Ahoy! will be victorious at this event.
