Thomas Miller launches new company TMKK in Japan
Thomas Miller has established a new company, TMKK, in Japan to provide support services to the UK P&I Club’s Japanese branch.
TMKK will operate out of Tokyo and Imabari and has been set up to work alongside and provide valuable support to the UK Club’s Japan branch. TMKK will enhance local resources and aim to streamline the delivery of bespoke claims and advisory services direct to UK Club Members in Japan, as well as to Japanese Members based in Singapore.
Paul Sessions, the UK Club’s Regional Director for Japan, will have overall responsibility for leading TMKK. The new team will comprise of four claims executives and the recently appointed Senior Loss Prevention Executive, Captain Hiroshi Sekine.
In addition to the TMKK claims team, Fumiaki Izawa and Masaaki Hishiki will continue to handle Japanese claims work from the Japan Branch of the UK Club.
As a result of setting up the new company, correspondent services in Japan will be brought in-house, with TMKK providing services to all UK Club Members in dealing with any claims or problems with which the Club might be concerned. This means the Club will no longer rely upon its correspondent ISS P&I Japan, bringing to an end an arrangement that has lasted for over 50 years.
From Monday 30th September, 2019, all correspondency work in Japan will be undertaken by TMKK.
Members should therefore contact TMKK for any claim matters previously handled by ISS, and also for any new matter requiring the Club’s correspondency services in Japan.
