This device was constructed by the crew of a Member's ship, to prevent the accommodation ladder from swinging and bashing against the side of the ship.

The device is fitted to the accommodation ladder and is jacked to hold the ladder away from the ship's side. Wheels allow the jack to roll with the motion of the ship.
