4 - 05/97 - Shipments of Steel out of Vostochny

Trulli

We have been made aware that a large amount of steel being exported out of Vostochny is being trained in from steel mills some 3000km inland. We understand this steel, some of which is cold rolled, is being transported in open wagons with no protection from the elements. Pre loading steels surveys are therefore strongly recommended here.

There is presently no correspondent in Vostochny although assistance can be obtained through the Vladivostock correspondent office. Ingosstrakh do have a small surveying office in Vostochny consisting of ex-mariners who could assist if required but we would recommend exec's/owners contact Vladivostock in the first instance.
