684 - 03/10 - Concentrated Inspection Campaign - Cen / S. Americas

The Association would like to inform Members of the upcoming Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) to be carried out by Members of the Vina del Mar agreement.

Member states from South and Central America will carry out the CIC between 1

April and 30

June 2010. The focus of the campaign has been described as "Safety in General" and the "Human Element". The campaign will be carried out by various port authorities through Port State Control inspections.

The Association would advise Members to be prepared for such inspections and to ensure that all safety equipment and procedures are in good order.
