UK P&I Club recently partnered with Fairplay Events to host a Round Table discussion on Crew Welfare organised by Safety at Sea magazine and focussing on Mental Health. The event, held at IHS Markit offices in the City of London included UK P&I Club Crew Health and People Claims teams represented by Sophia Bullard and Neil Beckwith alongside delegates from Nautilus International, Sailors' Society,  Apostleship of the Sea, Seafarers International Research Centre and UK Chamber of Shipping.

Discussions were held to identify the leading physical, social, cultural, and religious challenges facing of the modern seafarer.  Attendees brainstormed on existing and potential initiatives which could be made to enhance and protect crew mental health to avoid more seafarers suffering from conditions such as depression or anxiety whilst at sea.
