Mission to Seafarers - Awards dinner commendation

The Club is pleased to announce that Capt. Anuj Velankar, Senior Loss Prevention Advisor, has received a special commendation from the Mission to Seafarers for making a significant contribution to seafarers welfare.
 
The Mission to Seafarers announced the winners for the 2019 Seafarers awards at its annual awards dinner in Singapore on 10 May 2019. The awards recognise seafarers, shore based staff, volunteers and companies around the globe who have made outstanding contributions to the welfare of seafarers both at sea and ashore. At the awards, Anuj was shortlisted and nominated for two awards : As a seafarer who has contributed significantly to seafarer's welfare. He was also nominated in the category of Shore based employee who has made significant contribution to seafarer's welfare.
 
The Mission to Seafarers awarded a special commendation to Anuj as a 'Shore based employee for their contribution to seafarers welfare, within their organisation.' Rachel Coombs of MtS Singapore came over to the Thomas Miller office in Singapore to pass the certificate to Anuj.
 
Anuj and the Club's Loss prevention team is intensively engaged in interactions with the ship's crew both on board and ashore in ensuring the safety, good health and welfare of the seafarers and would like to thank all industry partners in helping make this work possible.
